BOUNCR Privacy Policy
Who we are
BOUNCR is a mobile and web game made by JR Learning Plus LLC. This policy covers the BOUNCR app and the account service at https://bouncr-api.vercel.app. You can reach us at support@bouncr.lol.
What we collect
You can play BOUNCR without an account. Guest progress and any round timings stay in local app or browser storage and are not sent to the account service. If you sign in, we store:
- Name and email as provided by Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, together with the stable account identifier the provider gives us. With Apple you may hide your email; we then only see the relay address Apple issues.
- A user ID and a friend code that our server generates, so friends can find you without sharing an email.
- Your chosen display name, which you can change at any time in Profile.
- Gameplay progress: highest level reached, stars earned per level, deaths and total play time, so your save follows you across devices.
- Round timing records from versions that record round times, including the web game: each level's best active duration in integer millisecond units and latest completed run's active duration in milliseconds, unique run identifier (UUID), completion timestamp from your device, stars collected in that run, and whether the run included a pause or time in the background. Active duration excludes paused and background time. These records sync with your progress when signed in. Public leaderboard display requires a separate explicit opt-in.
- Friend links: which friend codes you have added or accepted, and when, so your friends can see your level and star totals and you can see theirs.
- Opaque session tokens that keep you signed in, with the sign-in and last-activity timestamps of each session. Only a hash of each token is stored.
Why we collect it
- To create and recognise your account when you sign in again.
- To keep a cloud copy of your progress and personal round timing records and merge them across devices.
- To let you add friends by code and show each other your level and star totals.
- To let you review personal best and latest round times and compare records with accepted friends.
- To show your chosen display name, avatar and per-level best time on public leaderboards only if you opt in.
We keep one best duration and one latest completed run per level, rather than a full attempt history. Cloud saves merge the fastest duration and select the latest run by its device completion timestamp (using its UUID to break ties). The best duration has no separate historical pause indicator. These are self-reported personal times, not verified race results, and timing does not award extra stars.
Who can see your records
Detailed progress and round timing records are available through the signed-in account service only to you and friends whose requests have been accepted. Pending requests do not grant timing access. Public per-level leaderboards show only the display name and avatar you chose, your best time in integer millisecond units. Only accounts that explicitly opt in appear. Opt-in also makes those fields visible to anyone who can access the service; turning it off removes your leaderboard entries. Existing and new accounts are opted out by default, and stored records are not published unless you choose to opt in.
Times are self-reported active durations. All completed rounds are eligible, including those with pauses, deaths and checkpoints. Paused, hidden-tab and unfocused time is excluded from active duration. Browser timer resolution and game-frame completion detection affect accuracy.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs in the app or on this service.
- We do not sell your data. Apart from the records shared with accepted friends as described above, we share it only with the processors listed below to run the service.
Processors
These companies process data on our behalf so the service can run:
- Apple and Google, as identity providers when you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies govern the sign-in step.
- Vercel (USA), which hosts this account service.
- Supabase (Postgres hosted on AWS, USA), which stores the account, progress and round timing data above.
- Resend (USA), which receives email sent to our support address and delivers our replies. A support email is kept only as long as needed to answer it.
Retention
We keep your account data, including cloud round timing records, until you delete your account. Signing out does not delete your cloud save. Sessions expire after 180 days and are removed when you sign out or delete your account. Account deletion removes your account, identity links, sessions, progress, per-level stars, round timing records and friendships from the live database immediately. Copies in database-provider backups may remain until those backups expire under the provider's retention schedule.
Your choices
- Play without an account: progress and any round timings stay on your device or in your browser.
- Rename yourself at any time under Profile.
- Delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account, or follow the steps at /delete-account. Local app and browser saves, including round timings, are separate: signing out or deleting the account does not erase them. Clear app data or browser site data to remove those saves; retained local saves can sync if you sign in again.
Children
BOUNCR is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at support@bouncr.lol and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
